Photos from the 2024 Peachland Show
Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 11am-4pm was the Peachland Classic Car Show! The Chamber of Commerce worked with the District and community volunteers – and according to those who weighed in on this poll, it was a success! Live music from local band, the Part-timers, a 50/50 draw, a selection of food trucks (plus local restaurants will be open!) And at the end of the day, a small parade of cars down Beach Ave. There were trophies, too! And tons of prizes – organizers had150 different things to win, including a return trip for two to Whitehorse.

January 5, 2024 – a press release from the Chamber of Commerce:
The Peachland Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that a vintage car show will be cruising into Peachland over the May long weekend. The new event, which will take place with the picturesque Okanagan Lake as its backdrop, promises to be a community celebration along downtown Peachland’s famous Beach Avenue, providing a venue unlike any other car show. Car enthusiasts will have the opportunity to admire a stunning line-up of classic cars, custom vehicles, and more. The event also plans to feature live entertainment, delicious food and drinks, local vendors, and fun family-friendly activities, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
A car show has become a beloved tradition in the community but was at risk of being lost when the society that ran the event in Peachland for the past number of years recently announced they would be relocating their car show to West Kelowna. Based on overwhelming feedback, it became immediately evident that Peachland businesses, residents, and car enthusiasts were disappointed in this news and wanted to find a way to maintain the tradition of a car show in Peachland. Backed by the District of Peachland and the unwavering support of the community, the Peachland Chamber of Commerce has worked tirelessly to ensure a new, smaller-scale event will remain a fixture on the Peachland calendar.
“The car show has been an important attraction for Peachland, drawing in visitors from near and far. It has consistently been one of the busiest weekends of the year for local businesses, providing a vital economic boost. Recognizing the importance of this event and the immense value it brings to our town, we were determined to find a solution,” explained Curtis Urlacher, President of the Peachland Chamber of Commerce, when finding out the annual car show was at risk.
“Considering the impact the wildfires had on our local businesses this past summer, we couldn’t stand by and watch our membership take another hit. So, the Peachland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously voted to be the driving-force in organizing a new event in order ensure the continuation of a car show in our beautiful backyard.”
A full-day event is planned for Sunday, May 19th, a date that will accommodate travel for those coming from outside the region. Restaurants, shops, and other local establishments are eager for the influx of visitors and to provide exceptional experiences for attendees, ensuring that their visit to Peachland is a memorable one.
“It’s very fitting that this is the 25th year Peachland will host a car show and it’s the 25th anniversary of the Peachland Chamber of Commerce,” stated Darlene Thornton, Executive Director of the Peachland Chamber of Commerce.
“This is a big undertaking, but we are happy to steer it in support of our local businesses and to give our community a reason to come together. We recognize that our very small Board of Directors won’t be able to do it alone, however, and will need the help of businesses, community groups, and volunteers to make the event a success and a lasting tradition for another quarter of a century.”
