It was a train show!

Did you know? For the past 23 years, Peachland has hosted a gathering fit for any train enthusiast (the more nostalgic, the better!)

Longtime subscriber Dave Winter (you may know him from stories on the Peachland museum and Christmastime at the Winters) has a big interest in trains. There’s the set up at home, of course. And the others he’s set up / helped set up around town for many years now.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend, the Central Okanagan Railway Company (based out of the Peachland museum, of course) gathered for its annual swap meet and show:

…you know what I like about stopping by events like these? People doing niche things / different hobbies, and making themselves happy pursuing them.

When I stopped by on Saturday, Dave said the task of the day was to get a huge rail setup going – sections of it + many boxes were in the banquet room. He said the plan was to get it together and working, troubleshoot it – and then enjoy for a few hours before taking the whole thing down again. We had a laugh about that.

See? You gotta love the process….
