That feeling when you walk into a store and the owners not only know your name – they know all about the special friend you’re shopping for: It’s why Bosley’s has become more than a pet store here in town. 

Owners Cam and Shawna Banman are celebrating five years since they opened the doors at their corner location in Peachland Mall (#50-5500 Clements Cres.)

“Really, we want to say thank you to Peachlanders,” says Cam. Through fires, a flood, the pandemic and don’t forget last fall’s super storm – they’ve persevered because locals make a point of shopping at their store. And in an age where you can order anything off Amazon, they want to stick with providing great customer service. As if on cue, another regular arrives, waving hello.

“It’s all about the people coming in,” says Cam.

“This isn’t just a place to shop. When they have a problem or a question, Amazon isn’t going to help. But we can.”

Because customers are more budget-conscious these days, Cam and Shawna have worked to bring in more Canadian pet food brands at a competitive price point. And their outdoor gear and leash and collar section is bigger than other locations – because Peachlanders are so active.

“We’ve certainly gone with things you won’t find elsewhere,” Cam says.

To help kick off the Christmas season – and to celebrate the half decade they’ve been in business – Bosley’s will be hosting pet photos with Santa on Saturday, November 26. Sessions start at 9 a.m. and you can reserve your spot by calling the store (250) 767-0121. All photo proceeds go to Woofers Rescue. There will also be some great in-store specials (on every item!)

What’s the plan for the next five years? Well, the Banmans are about to open a second Bosley’s location in West Kelowna. Soon, you’ll be able to see the sign from the highway – the store will be open mid-December in the Okanagan Lake Shopping Centre (near the bridge, by the Landmark Cinemas). 

Cam and Shawna will remain a presence at the Bosley’s Peachland store – especially on one of their favourite days, the last Thursday of every month.

“That’s Seniors Day, so one of us will be here for sure,” says Shawna, adding she and Cam appreciate every single Peachlander who has visited their store.

“We really want to thank everyone for their support over the past five years.”
