Update: This event has been cancelled, according to a Lions FB post August 2 – hopefully another time!
The green grass of Cousins Field is the place for some friendly competition, (optional!) costumes and to top it off, a delicious Italian-themed lunch. Saturday, August 9 is the second-annual Mad Hatter Boccenalia – the Peachland Lions Club bocce tourney that’s for a great cause.
Organizer Shelley Sweeney says all proceeds from your $65 ticket (which includes at least four games and a homemade lunch of lasagna, salads, a bun and dessert) – go towards community initiatives right here in town.
All ages and abilities are welcome. Last year, the vibe was super friendly.
What is bocce, anyway? – The Britannica definition
“This lighthearted and festive event combines fun, fundraising, and a good dose of friendly competition,” she says.
Last year’s event was great!
