Alena Glasman is seeking re-election to Peachland Council for the 2026–2030 term
My priorities are focused on sustainable growth, fiscal responsibility, community representation and protecting Peachland’s resources and identity.
Key platform points include:
◦ Sustainable growth: Plan for Peachland’s future while maintaining its identity, affordability and ability to provide services to current and future residents.
◦ Development: Support residential, commercial and industrial growth that are financially sustainable for residents, landowners, developers, and the District.
◦ Housing and commercial opportunities: I support “smart development,” including additional housing and commercial opportunities as our resources can sustain.
◦ Water and watershed protection: Balance development with protection and preservation of Peachland’s watershed and water supply. Actively seek solutions for drought and water security.
◦ Fiscal responsibility: Emphasize careful spending, accountability and responsible management of District finances.
◦ Planning and bylaws: Review, structure and consolidate bylaws so they work together with the Official Community Plan (OCP) and Strategic Development Plan (SDP).
◦ Community representation: Continue advocating for residents and landowners, asking difficult questions and ensuring community concerns are heard at all levels of government.
◦ Community organizations: Support local organizations that contribute to Peachland’s character and community life.
◦ Funding and infrastructure: Continue seeking senior-government funding for Peachland projects and infrastructure, reducing the financial burden on the community.
◦ Collaboration: I intend to continue working with Council, residents, landowners and other organizations to find solutions and advance community projects.
